Keeping The Show Alive (LP&CD) - SR Records
Keeping The Show Alive (SR Records) will focus on Elvis’ January& February 1973 Vegas season, featuring shows from January 27th, 1973 MS, previously unreleased on vinyl including as bonus CD the unreleased show from February 05, 1973, MS.
The January show was previously released on CD but this is the first time on vinyl format with an incredibly superior sound. The vinyl will be accompanied by a CD with an unreleased show from the same season just a week later. A Must-have!
The SR intends to present Elvis at the peak of his possibility. Elvis in the first week of the Vegas January and February season is undoubtedly the best moment of Elvis in 1973, presenting him at the top of his possibilities, delivering two great shows, as suggested in the title “Keeping The Show Alive”. The performances are outstanding and the shows are surely the best of the season.
Coming from just two weeks from the Aloha special was not the best way to face another Las Vegas season despite this in the first week of the season Elvis sings and is still very active on the stage He performs all the songs to the maximum of his possibilities, presenting all the best of his repertoire from the previous TV special and placing his best rocker single Burning Love at the end of the show we have to wait another two years to have another live performance of Burning Love.
We are happy to be able to associate great performance with great audio quality and overall a great bonus CD with this unreleased show placed at the begin of the second week of the season with a minor track listing variation but we think can give well the idea of the first part of the season.
The two shows are great and now consist of a solid collection of great-quality songs well-performed. The range of Elvis’ performance is extensive we go from the oldies rocking with the two classic Hound Dog and Blue Suede Shoes to the power pop You Don’t Have To Say To Love Me, without forgetting the sensitive Until It’s Time For You To Go and the religious How Great Thou Art the autobiographical You Gave Me a Mountain ending with the best topic moment show the rocker Burning Love and the next single the solid rock blues Steamroller Blues without a doubt represent the highlight of the show.
